Villarreal CF launches US-based soccer academy in Chicago Illinois
Villarreal Chicago Academy opens a new door for youth soccer players as an Official Partner Academy of Villarreal CF.
Villarreal CF, a top 5 team in Spain’s La Liga, has announced a new Official Partner Academy, Villarreal Chicago Academy. Villarreal will work with staff members to grow players through their innovative player development program. Players and coaches will even have a chance to visit the Villarreal facilities in Spain to witness this methodology firsthand.
“Chicago is an extraordinary soccer area that is thriving with talent and we are certain that our unique approach to the beautiful game will have a very positive impact on the players and the community. Villarreal is one of Europe’s top development programs in professional soccer and our Academy is the cornerstone of our success. We are very excited to get things started,” said Juan Antón, Director of International Development at Villarreal.
The academy will have soccer education for players of all abilities and age ranges from under 4 to under 18. “Having a legitimate professional pathway will provide youth players a complete developmental experience. Villarreal coaches will be visiting to train both coaches and players, they will run tryout sessions, offer clinics, provide coaching education, supplement programs and offer camps. Our coaches will have direct support and access to professional curriculum and methodologies. The benefits our players now have is limitless and each player can now dictate their own future and opportunities,” said Jorge Sambataro, Academy Director.
Players and alumni that consistently demonstrate top level training, skills and behavior, will have opportunities to be invited to Villarreal’s top-notch Training Complex in Spain, one of the best youth developmental academies in the world. Participants will observe La Liga training sessions, meet the players, practice with the club’s elite players, get coached by Villarreal staff members, and experience what it takes to become a professional soccer player.
